I have no personal experience with this company, but I've noticed on another machinist forum that there seems to be a lot of satisfied customers for the Precision Matthews machines.

Re: This years collection reels
Those things are heirloom pieces. I'd be afraid to get one near water. Beautiful work.

Re: My band saw broke!!
It's been in the tool holder for years, so apparently I forgot what it actually was. Probably out of production now, as I quit using Valenite because they changed things regularly and constantly discontinued them. DSC03756.JPG Here's a link to a catalog I just found online. No telling if it is curr...

Grooved with this. DSC03745.JPG Kennametal Multidirectional Tool. It will turn, face, groove, and part. It is quite stout as I have turned with it to full depth. Glenn, Any chance you could provide some specifics (part numbers, etc.) for this tool. I got on the Kennametal website and found what I b...

Joe Pieczyniski has a good video on machining very small diameter parts in the lathe.

Re: Toolbox drawer dividers
The side and end pieces are dado'd and the dividers just slide into the dados. The small dividers in the socket drawer are just a tight slide-in fit. They should also be in dados, but probably never will be.

Re: Toolbox drawer dividers
Several decades ago I made some cheap plywood dividers for my tool chest with intentions that it would be a temporary measure until I had time to "do it right". Well, those temporary dividers are still there and I guess they will remain until I'm gone. They have done the job just fine. Ted...

Re: Castor wheels for the mill
I built a mobile base for my vertical bandsaw with pretty much the same concerns as yours with your mill. I ultimately decided to use only two swivel casters and two fixed with jacking screws to lift the machine off of the floor for stability. I also built it to keep the machine as close to the floo...

Well, for a guy with no experience, that's a pretty nice looking casting. I've seen MUCH worse from people that do have experience. Nice work Harold.

Re: Thin Parts In The Milling Vise
I keep a puck of all three varieties of this stuff around- https://aquabondtechnologies.com/home/ Conrad, I looked the website and didn't find any information about how this product is used. Is it just rubbed onto the part to be machined ? Does it adhere as soon as it contacts the substrate ? I've ...
